Behind the scenes on our exclusive photo shoot

You may wonder what goes into creating beautiful images and video for a big campaign launch and in this blog, we share with you the behind the scenes story to our stunning imagery.

The planning behind the photo and film shoot happened many months before, and we had lots of aspects to arrange from sourcing the location, models (equine and human!) and of course the photographer and videographer.

Award Winning Photography

We choose the award-winning photographer and videographer Dan Aziz for both our lifestyle and still life shoot. Dan has a wealth of experience, having travelled all over the world and shot everything from landscapes through to designer furniture. Photographing equine models in a stable yard didn’t phase Dan, but when you have shot in such diverse locations such as Mount Kilimanjaro, a shoot in Northumberland must seem easy!

Stunning Horses & Location

Our location and our stunning equine models were courtesy of the fabulous South Dissington Stud in Ponteland. The equine models Mellifluous Minx (Minx), Wise Guy (Reilly) and Dissington Shadow (Shadow) were all chosen for their good looks and exceptional temperament. They behaved impeccably well and were very patient (we think they thoroughly enjoyed the fuss and the pampering!) and when it came to setting up the spooky lighting and equipment outside their stable doors, they took it all in their stride.

Creating Great Results With Our Horse Grooming Kit

The equine hair and makeup was achieved using our horse grooming tools in the exceptionally talented and experienced hands of South Dissington Stud Manager, Lindsay Aspden. Lindsay has previously worked in the US as a rider and trainer at a dressage and boarding barn and has an Equine Business Management degree at Hartpury college and is also a BHS Senior Coach.

Lindsay who has been using the kit at the stud prior to the shoot loves the brushes commenting:

“The grooming equipment is of the highest quality I have ever seen. It looks and feels fantastic as well as being functional and practical. The horses seem very happy and relaxed when being groomed with these brushes. The results speak for themselves”

Our brushes certainly deliver results and we will be sharing our trade turn-out tips in a future blog, coming soon.

Our human model was the lovely Melissa Kate who as you can see from the shoot was pretty smitten with her fellow co-stars as they were with Melissa.

Lights, Camera & Action

The shoot involved photography and video, and the whole campaign took three days in total with our stable yard shoot taking up a very full 7 hour day! The editing and final imagery decisions took considerably longer, as we had so much great content! We hope you agree that all our efforts were worth it with results that we are so proud to have achieved.

A Grooming Kit Created With Passion

We think our imagery reflects our desire for perfection, the results achieved using our kit, the beauty of our grooming kit and ultimately our genuine passion for producing a premium product that you and your horse will enjoy for years to come.
